The mission of the Center for Respite Care is to provide quality, holistic medical care to homeless people who need a safe place to heal, while assisting them in breaking the cycle of homelessness.Key interventions of the Medical Recovery program include:Meeting immediate needs of homeless – The Center provides a bed, 3 healthy meals each day, showers, laundry facilities and clothing as needed.Medical care – Medical care includes medical evaluations, limited lab testing, medication monitoring, nursing care, physician visits, health education, and coordination of medical and mental health follow-up care or surgeries.Transition to Self Sufficiency – The program also focuses on becoming an important link in the transition to self-sufficiency. The Center provides an array of services to assist individuals in developing and implementing a case plan including application for entitlement programs, coordination of plans with external case management, and referrals to housing/shelter or treatment programs, income, substance abuse and mental health services.
